Val was rescued from the Technic League by her adopted father Khonnir and raised as his daughter. Khonnir never kept the dark truth of Val's origins from her, and sought to teach her all he knows about technology and science. Zaidow's coup and aggressive push to put Numeria in a stranglehold has been met with resistance from the numerous Kellid clans that make up the country, as well as a majority of Technic League captains who believe Zaidow is putting their entire organization at risk.
