AT A GLANCE
Scrapwall didn't begin as a town. It's origins date back 50 years to the first Technic League expedition to the region which at the time was firmly in the territory of the Sunderhorn Clan. The Technic League forced the Sunderhorn off the land and enslaved those who refused to flee, beginning an excavation of the numerous wrecked vessels that littered the hills. It isn't clear why so many vessels crashed in the same region, but League estimates stood at 27 ships.

When it became clear that Scrapwall was a valuable resource, the League leveraged the full might of their influence, emptying prisons and capturing slaves to work in Scrapwall's mines harvesting any piece of technology or raw materials. Managing Scrapwall became an onerous task due to frequent raids by the Sunderhorn and local guerilla attacks by ysoki populations. After 20 years and having stripped what they believed to be the majority of valuable tech from the crash sites, the Technic League called the region a loss and pulled out, leaving their slaves behind to fend for themselves.

In the 30 years that followed, Scrapwall became a desperate haven for outcasts, criminals, exiles, and the hopeless. The ysoki, having lived in warrens below Scrapwall for longer than the Technic League had ever set foot on the land, remained a constant presence in the area. Over time it became clear that the League did not harvest all of the valuables from the region, including millions of tons of glaucite—a rare and durable metal—that needed to be stripped from ship hulls. While Scrapwall was not organized enough to become a trade hub, it none the less carved out a niche for itself as a safe haven for the unwanted, and a treasure trove for those with the strength to dig for it.
RECENT EVENTS
Up until a few months ago the largest power in Scrapwall were the Lords of Rust, a cult devoted to a nascent deity named Hellion. When Hellion's plans were laid to waste and the Lords of Rust destroyed utterly, Scrapwall teetered on the brink of chaos. Were it not for the efforts of Neelo, Karsus, and their allies the region would have fallen to infighting and eventual rule by the Technic League.

Instead, a new regional power was formed in the small garrison a mile outside of the city: the Iron Alliance. This network united the stable factions of Scrapwall and organized them to cover up evidence of Hellion's rise to power. When the Technic League did finally arrive, the locals murdered their envoy and displayed their corpses in the market as a warning. With no valuable leads, the Technic League wrote off the rumors as fiction.

Today, Scrapwall is getting its act together. The Steel Hawks gang, under the leadership of Sevoth Slaid, are becoming a true defense force for the settlement. Under Redtooth's leadership, the ysoki are coming to the surface more, and the church of Brigh has grown and is extending more magical and medical aid to the town's residents.

When a Night Herald cult called the Harbingers attempted to fill the power vacuum left by the Lords of Rust, a traveler to the region named Scout worked with local leadership to stamp the cult out entirely. In the process, a fully functional graviton reactor was found far below the town, offering a tantalizing hope for the future for the people of this rusting city.
